*EXPERIENCED* Practice Manager/ Medical Billing Specialist -

Location: Washington, DC

Description:
Busy, established outpatient physical therapy practice in Northwest DC (local to George Washington University) seeks an experienced practice manager with medical billing and information technology expertise. Please DO NOT apply for this position unless you meet the following minimum qualifications: ? Certificate in medical billing / coding. Equivalent medical billing experience will be considered in some cases in lieu of degree. ? Associates Degree or certificate in accounting or related discipline (Bachelor?s preferred). Equivalent bookkeeper experience will be considered in some cases in lieu of degree. ? At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing staff and all operations in a healthcare setting (hospital or medical office) ? EDI and EHR experience ? IT expertise and problem solving skills ? Proven track record in reducing and managing A / R ? Ability to multi-task and willing to jump in and assist with all operational aspects of running a medical practice ? Excellent customer service skills ? Ability to write professional correspondence to patients, physicians and insurance companies ? Expertise in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel General Job Description: Manage financial transactions, accounts payable / receivable; manage end to end collections process from patients and insurance companies with positive outcomes; integrate technological advances into billing and receivable processes; reconcile bank statements; payroll for staff of 10-15 employees; invoice patients and suppliers; actively manage billing and front office staff; schedule patients; assist in marketing efforts to promote the clinic.
