The Medical Records Specialist/MediTech Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the incomplete records processing area of the Health Information Management Department which includes overall record completion processes, physician notification of incomplete/delinquent records and physician suspension process. The Medical Records Specialist/MediTech Coordinator is also charged with running daily physician Self-Assign audit report and contact physicians not listed in record for authorizations. Verify Daily Assignments function in MRI module to catch any duplicate unit #'s given day before. Help physicians sign electronically as needed. Help educate physicians on any new functionality that would affect electronic signature/EPR/PCI through flyers and/or training. Re-set passwords and PIN #'s in Meditech for all HIMS users. Upload any new coding forms (queries, summaries) to the Abstracting module. Run daily nursing report "documentation on discharged inpatient accounts" and analyze for late documentation entered in error and/or educate staff on timely entries in Meditech. Seal all Adoption records in Meditech and give access to HIM management. Build/Edit subsets in Meditech that we use to print documents from patients' records. Maintain Medical Records/Abstracti ng dictionaries. Assign barcode numbers (form ID #) for all new forms in patient records. Merge duplicate unit #'s in the MPI. The Medical Records Specialist/MediTech Coordinator will also be responsible for checking the Medical Record module background job daily for interfacing of charts into Meditech. HIM Core Team Leader- test all Meditech updates/functions for EPR/Abstracting/Medical Records modules. Educate staff of any Meditech updates/functions. Correct charts that have wrong account #/wrong labels/wrong patient documents. Enter info into the MRI module for Identity Theft issues. (see policy) Tracks outstanding Meditech issues and works with HCA Corporate customer service for resolution of issues. Compile physicians' patient statistical reports for Medical Staff office as needed. Remove any/all deficiencies for Registration to edit an account then enter deficiencies back on record.
