We are seeking candiates in multiple areas as there is a great relocation package being offered. The job is located near Denver, CO JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coder II must be able to work on his/her own with little supervision. Responsibilities include assigning ICD 9-CM codes and/or CPT-4 codes for statistical and billing purposes, abstracting all information per policy into main frame data base to be used for various data commissions, and analyzing charts for completeness and entering chart deficiencies and location in the chart tracking system. Performs all other duties as assigned. Core competencies: Compliance and computerized annual required education (HealthStream); additional competencies as defined by Department Director. Education: Degree in Health Information Management with RHIT, RHIA or CCS preferred. Experience: Three years hospital coding with inpatient and outpatient coding experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Medical terminology and anatomy, advanced classes in ICD 9 CM and CPT-4 coding, typing, calculator, analysis of records, computer experience. This position may require interaction with people of all ages; therefore, the employee must have communications skills appropriate for people of all ages.
