Job Title: MEDICAL RECORDS CODER I Company: The University of Oklahoma Medical Center Location: Oklahoma City, OK Description: Under immediate to immediate supervision, codes medical documents reflecting health care provided to patients in an inpatient non-DRG based setting, outpatient setting or in coding routine diagnosis and procedures provided to hospitalized patients according to accept classification systems. These settings include but are not limited to Obstetric inpatient visits, Newborn inpatient visits or Pediatric inpatient visits as well as those areas listed for a Coder Level 1.Codes diagnoses and procedure on records of inpatient hospitalized patients using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9-CM) and Physician's Current Procedural Terminology (CPT). Reviews medical records for completeness and accuracy of appropriate information to submit for insurance billing, research, and study purposes; corrects errors in coded information, as needed. Completed daily production reports. Job Requirements: Two (2) years experience in Health Information Management or coding OR an equivalent combination of experience and education.
