Job Title: MEDICAL RECORDS CODER IV Company: Inova Health System Location: Falls Church, VA Description: Assures accurate and complete assignment of codes, modifiers and case mix grouping (APC or DRG) that are supported by medical record documentation for inpatient and/or outpatient surgery records.Abstract all demographic and clinical data elements required for inpatient and outpatient surgery records.Assign other codes and data elements required for inpatient and outpatient surgery records.Completes all work in accordance with Hospital-defined productivity and quality standards.Assist in the Data Quality audit process, by performing prebill reviews and quality audits of inpatient coding/DRG assignment, outpatient coding/modifier/APC assignment, abstracting and physician queries.Serves as a resource to physicians and other interdepartmental staff relative to documentation issues for coding.
