Description:
This position is responsible for coordination of clerical activities related to assigned physicians patients. Responsible for being accessible for patient contact and facilitates communication between physician, patient and other services as necessary. Receives incoming calls and addresses them appropriately, prioritizing calls effectively. Schedules office appointments and provides information and/or instructions relating to any relevant procedures. Reschedules appointments when necessary. Schedules procedures at direction of physician and ensures that all documentation is prepared in advance of physician order procedures. Manages physician's schedule up to six months in advance. Obtains proper documents needed prior to releasing medical information. Contacts pharmacies when necessary to complete new prescriptions and refills. Relays information between physician, patient, pharmacist, and patient's primary care physician when necessary. Prepares lists and reports for upcoming procedures. Completes necessary forms/documentation for pre-certification process. Verifies patient's insurance information when necessary. Serves as back up for other positions as needed. All other duties as assigned.
