HEALTH RECORD TRANSCRIPTIONIST Department: Transcription Schedule: Regular Part-time Shift: Evening/Night shift Job Code: OCN10040R Job Details: ***THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE TN***  Basic Function: Interprets and transcribes dictation by healthcare professionals regarding specimen received. Will transcribe gross dictation to meet production standards set by the transcription cost center. Types various information off a requisition and performs quality control checks for data entry accuracy. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred graduate of a transcription school with certification. Additional courses in medical terminology preferred as well. Experience: Minimum two years experience transcribing medical dictation in an acute care or multi-specialty clinic required. Other: Must be able to multi-task and work in an environment driven by deadlines. Must be proficient in Anatomic/Pathology medical terminology. Good communicator, well organized, detail oriented, and good navigational skills between multiple computer systems. Must have excellent typing, editing skills and excellent listening skills. Must have an understanding of confidentiality rules and regulations. Must have knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and standards including grammar, punctuation, and style.
