Patient Access Coordinator

Job Description: As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our healthcare facility. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Front Desk Operations: Execute daily front desk operations, including handling financial transactions, to optimize revenue collection.
  2. Appointment Scheduling: Manage patient appointment scheduling to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient business operations.
  3. Data Management: Enter and review data and accounts in NSU-specific software systems.
  4. Problem Solving: Address internal and external inquiries and resolve complex problems, leveraging a broad understanding of policies and procedures.
  5. Leadership: Take a lead role in training and monitoring clinic staff as needed.
  6. Insurance Verification: Verify and process all accepted insurance plans.
  7. Coordination: Collaborate with labs and physicians to manage authorizations and referrals for specialists.
  8. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare facility.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with healthcare software systems is a plus.

Required Experience:

High School Diploma and two (2) years of customer service / administrative experience in an office environment. --OR-- Associate's Degree and one (1) year of customer service / administrative experience in an office environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bilingual: Spanish/English; Creole Haitian/English.
  2. Experience with Electronic Medical Record system.
