EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Bachelor's of science degree from a college or university. Qualifications of the Board of Certification for Nursing/EMT Certifications/First Responder Paramedics and or Athletic Trainers. Experience: One year of experience working in a first responder, medical career, athletic training environment and or rehabilitation care,is preferred. Desired: Master's degree in kinesiology, education-related healthcare field, athletic training or enrollment, with reasonable progress completed, in similar Master's degree program. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: A valid CPR and First Aid certificate issued by an authorized agency; valid California driver's license; possession of an Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate (ASCC). and or Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers; California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA)

Under the supervision of the High School Principal and Superintendent, and in collaboration with the Athletic Director, the Patient Care Coordinator supports students in exploring medical careers by teaching foundational knowledge in healthcare, including medical terminology and career pathways. The role involves guiding students in selecting appropriate courses and understanding the requirements and responsibilities of patient care roles, particularly in diagnostic and therapeutic areas such as rehabilitation and follow-up evaluations. The Coordinator also provides information, training, and guidance to both students and faculty. Additionally, they maintain regular office hours at the high school to support the prevention and care of athletic injuries. The position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate school athletic events.
