Patient Care Coordinator
Job Description

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the welcoming face and voice for patients, customers, and their families, providing courteous and timely assistance both in person and over the phone. You will ensure patients are seen according to schedule and update their arrival times as necessary. A proficient understanding of insurance is essential, as is the ability to collect patient co-pays and outstanding balances. Your role will involve offering and assisting patients with procedure-related questionnaires, resolving customer issues by mobilizing necessary resources, and scheduling and rescheduling radiology exams in accordance with department protocols, while advising patients of any required pre-exam preparations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, customers, and families in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ensure patient arrival according to schedule and update arrival times when necessary.
  • Demonstrate a proficient understanding of insurance policies.
  • Collect patient co-pays and outstanding balances.
  • Assist patients with procedure-related questionnaires.
  • Resolve customer issues by determining and mobilizing required resources.
  • Schedule and reschedule radiology exams as per department protocol and advise patients on pre-exam preparations.
  • Maintain clear and organized receptionist and patient waiting areas.
  • Stock reception area with necessary supplies.
  • Maintain a consistent level of productivity and organize tasks efficiently.
  • Complete proper documentation for film/CD dispensing.
  • Communicate proactively with provider offices, technologists, and leadership.

Work Environment

This role operates within the Imaging department in Florham Park, with a shift from Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM. You will join a team of three Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) and will often be on your own during the last three hours of the day when patient flow is low. The supportive staff and providers contribute to a positive work environment, with the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients in an outpatient setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $22.00/hr.
