Job Description

This role is essential in welcoming patients, managing the appointment calendar, handling inquiries, and coordinating with medical staff to ensure efficient office operations. You will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage, organizing workloads, and maintaining a positive attitude towards patients.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize EMR for maintaining patient records.
  • Welcome and assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Manage appointment calendar and coordinate with medical staff.
  • Handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims.
  • Organize workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient records.
  • Provide patients with information on treatments and medications.
  • Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure smooth patient flow and office operations in collaboration with healthcare providers.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • Medical assisting and medical reception experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a medical receptionist or in a front office role.
Work Environment

The position operates in a busy office environment, requiring the ability to multitask and handle 20-40 patients a day, depending on provider rotation. The primary work location is in Sparta, with occasional travel to other sites for coverage. The schedule includes shifts from Monday to Friday, with one weekend shift per quarter and one evening shift per week after training. The office is part of a large yet locally-focused network with seven locations in NJ, offering a small group feel and opportunities for growth. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparta, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
