Lamoille Health Partners is seeking a professional, welcoming, and highly organized Patient Access Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you play a critical role in shaping the patient experience and ensuring our clinic runs smoothly. Key Responsibilities

Patient Coordination & Experience

  • First Impressions: Greet patients and visitors with a professional and friendly demeanor, ensuring a welcoming environment.

  • Check-In/Check-Out: Manage the full patient arrival and departure process, including verifying identities and directing patients to appropriate waiting areas.

  • Scheduling: Coordinate and manage provider schedules, booking appointments in person and over the phone while ensuring efficient patient flow.

  • Phone Management: Professionally handle a multi-line phone system, directing calls, taking accurate messages, and answering general inquiries about clinic services.

Administrative & Financial

  • Registration: Accurately collect and update patient demographic and insurance information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals prior to patient visits.

  • Payment Collection: Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service; provide receipts and accurately reconcile daily collections.

  • Records Management: Handle medical records requests and scanning of documents into patient charts with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Compliance & Safety

  • HIPAA Privacy: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, ensuring that all patient information is kept secure and private.

  • Reception Area: Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and tranquil reception area.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Medical Assistants, Nurses, and Providers to communicate patient status and urgent needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, clinic, or high-volume customer service environment preferred.

  • Technical Skills: * Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g. eClinicalWorks) is highly desirable.

  • Strong basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional during high-volume periods or when assisting patients in distress.

  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
