UVA medical office in Bristol VA seeks a Medical Office Coordinator. The Medical Office Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring efficient daily operations within the clinic. This position serves as a central point of communication for patients, medical staff, and external providers while supporting administrative and clinical workflows. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments in a timely and accurate manner
Coordinating three face to face clinical settings including telemedicine scheduling
Answer incoming patient phone calls and route messages or inquiries to appropriate medical staff
Receive, review, and process referral documentation from external providers
Provide patients with information regarding outside referrals and assist with related scheduling
Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients requiring handicap-accessible services
Travel to an off-site field clinic, with the team, three days per month (during the first week of each month) to assist with patient registration, intake, and scheduling
Maintain and organize patient records, including filing, EMR and paper charting, and preparing charts for upcoming clinics
Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with office policies
Support general office operations and administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 1+ year of relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Physical Demands : This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Work Arrangement : This position is based in Bristol VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
