Multi-Specialty Medical Biller Job Summary The Multi-Specialty Medical Biller provides billing and coding support to medical practices and patients while delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities include responding to patient, provider, and insurance inquiries; communicating with insurance carriers; and managing self-pay and collection-related activities. The role requires independent problem-solving, sound judgment, and the ability to apply reasoning to resolve billing and account issues Multi-Specialty Medical Biller Key Responsibilities
- Responds to inquiries from collection agencies and internal customers to provide service and information relating to accounts in bad debt.
- Responsible for estate inquiries.
- Completes assigned work lists and customer correspondence on a weekly basis.
- Informs manager of all potential problems and issues immediately.
- Stays current in all aspects of Professional billing and all insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, Auto, Workers Compensation and commercial insurance carriers along with the regulations that govern them.
- High School Diploma and 5 (five) years of Medical Billing and accounts resolutions experience OR Associates degree with 2 (two) years of relevant experience required.
- Strong working experience in Medical Terminology is REQUIRED
- Minimum of 2 (two) years of Medical Billing experience REQUIRED.
- ICD-10 and CPT coding experience REQUIRED.
- CPC-A certification will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Microsoft Office experience REQUIRED.
- Experience in Athena a plus but not required.
