As a Patient Financial Services Representative, you will help manage patient accounts, process insurance claims and payments, assist patients with billing questions, and serve as a valuable resource for navigating healthcare insurance and financial processes.
This position works closely with patients, insurance companies, physician offices, medical records, and registration staff to ensure accurate and timely account resolution.
What You'll Do Billing & Account Management• Review, research, and process patient accounts accurately and efficiently
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits information
• Submit and follow up on insurance claims and billing activities
• Resolve account discrepancies and payment issues
• Monitor accounts through final resolution or collection processes when necessary
• Maintain accurate account documentation and records
• Assist patients with billing questions and insurance-related concerns
• Explain insurance benefits, payment options, and account balances
• Provide compassionate and professional customer service during sensitive financial discussions
• Serve as a resource for patients navigating healthcare financial processes
• Work closely with Admissions, Medical Records, Providers, and Insurance Companies
• Cross-train in multiple account types and department functions
• Assist with payment posting and account balancing activities
• Support department goals and process improvement initiatives

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One year of experience in healthcare billing, insurance, accounting, banking, customer service, or related field preferred
• Equivalent education and experience combinations considered
• Strong computer and data-entry skills
• Ability to analyze information and solve problems effectively
• Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes preferred but not required
