Overview

Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Patient Services Representative II provides patient-families with a positive experience at CHLA by performing clerical tasks primarily associated with answering incoming calls, registration, and patient check-in/out procedures, collection of patient co-pay or deductibles, scheduling and verifying patient appointments. Completes financial clearance and authorization duties, serves as the administrative support for assigned providers. Works closely with assigned providers to ensure follow up care is completed. Assists with creation and review of divisional performance reports and metrics.

The Urulogy department/PSR II performs patient scheduling, PRO, requesting authorizations, checking eligibility and managing high call volumes.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required: One year experience in customer service, preferably in a medical front office setting. Basic knowledge of computers, filing and organizational skills required. Ability to deal effectively with the public. Demonstrates strong multitasking abilities, with experience in scheduling, obtaining authorizations, verifying insurance eligibility, and knowledge of various insurance types.

Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish. 3+ years in medical office setting.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: High school diploma or GED required.

Pay Scale Information

$44,782.40-$59,696.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
