As part of its continued growth, the organization is bringing its billing operations in-house and expanding its revenue cycle team to support increased patient volume and operational efficiency. They are now looking for a Collections/Medical Biller.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr - $28/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join its growing team. This is a newly created position reporting directly to the Billing Manager and offers an opportunity to play a key role in building and supporting the practice's in-house billing operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing the full medical billing cycle.
Responsibilities of the Collections/Medical Biller:
- Generate, review, and submit insurance claims accurately and timely.
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims.
- Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
- Support billing activities related to No Surprises Act (NSA) cases.
- Process Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) transactions.
- Ensure accurate coding and billing practices are maintained.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
Required Experience/Skills for the Collections/Medical Biller:
- 2+ years of medical billing experience.
- Strong follow-up and claims resolution experience.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting EOBs.
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures.
- Experience working with electronic medical records and billing software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Collections/Medical Biller:
- Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or neurosurgery billing.
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Knowledge of NSA billing requirements and arbitration processes.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Additional healthcare billing or coding certifications are a plus.
