Medical Scheduler

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Medical Surgery Scheduler to join our growing healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the central hub for eight dedicated physicians, managing their complex surgical calendars, securing insurance authorizations, and guiding patients through the financial and administrative steps of their upcoming procedures.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can balance rigorous administrative tasks with compassionate patient care.

salary: $23 - $24.6 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities

• Surgical Scheduling: Coordinate, schedule, and maintain the surgical calendars for 8 physicians, ensuring optimal efficiency and adherence to hospital/surgical center availabilities.
  
  
• Insurance Verification: Proactively verify patient insurance benefits, obtain necessary prior authorizations, and ensure all pre-certification documentation is completed well ahead of the scheduled surgery date.
  
  
• Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their surgical logistics. Clearly communicate out-of-pocket responsibilities, deductibles, and co-pays, and discuss payment expectations compassionately and professionally.
  
  
• Collaborate closely internal medical staff to ensure all pre-surgery requirements (clearances, labs, etc.) are met.
  
  
• Accurately enter and update patient demographics, insurance details, and scheduling codes within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
