Responsibilities
- Surgical Scheduling: Coordinate, schedule, and maintain the surgical calendars for 8 physicians, ensuring optimal efficiency and adherence to hospital/surgical center availabilities.
- Insurance Verification: Proactively verify patient insurance benefits, obtain necessary prior authorizations, and ensure all pre-certification documentation is completed well ahead of the scheduled surgery date.
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their surgical logistics. Clearly communicate out-of-pocket responsibilities, deductibles, and co-pays, and discuss payment expectations compassionately and professionally.
- Collaborate closely internal medical staff to ensure all pre-surgery requirements (clearances, labs, etc.) are met.
- Accurately enter and update patient demographics, insurance details, and scheduling codes within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
