Software DeveloperLOCATION: Missoula, MT / RemoteFLSA STATUS: Exempt Reports to the Manager of Systems Development CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION: The Software Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining features and functionality within our software systems. This role requires both individual contribution and team collaboration, with an emphasis on writing clean, scalable code and enhancing system reliability and performance. The ideal candidate is analytically minded, proactive in seeking clarification and feedback, and possesses strong communication skills.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Evaluate development projects, user stories, bugs, and system-related tasks Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code for new software features Manually and systemically test new functions, reports, and features Support improvements to software testing standards and processes Clearly communicate project, task, and bug status with relevant stakeholders Present completed work items during internal demos Collaborate with stakeholders to gather technical and functional feedback Debug and enhance existing code to improve system stability and user experience Participate in code reviews and technical discussions Update and manage work items in the project management system Contribute to or guide documentation efforts for new and existing features Recommend or update training materials and SOPs based on feature changes Interview stakeholders for requirements gathering as needed Other duties as assignedRELATED DUTIES: Provide system support, perform maintenance, and contribute to development efforts aligned with team goalsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Training and Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred 2-3 years relevant development experience may substitute for formal education with appropriate credentialsKnowledge, Abilities and Skills Experience with Zohos proprietary scripting language, Deluge, or the ability to learn new scripting languages quickly Proficiency with object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, C#) Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (preferred but not required) Understanding of software development frameworks (e.g., .NET, Django) Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks Proficiency with version control tools such as Git Advanced knowledge of SQL, including schema design, stored procedures, and performance tuning Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies Ability to learn proprietary CRM and database technologies rapidly. Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required. Strong written and verbal communication, including technical documentation Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a teamPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. Manual dexterity for keyboard use. Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs may be required. Accommodations may be made if necessary to perform job duties.
