Overview
Role: Registration Specialist - Urology
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Onsite)
Role Overview
Facilitates patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Responsible for obtaining and entering demographic and financial information to ensure accurate records, appropriate reimbursement, and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient check-in and check-out
Collect co-pays and process payments
Guide patients through registration and next steps
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient visits
Verify and update demographic and insurance information
Utilize RightFax and other systems for documentation and communication
Answer incoming calls and direct patients/visitors appropriately
Collaborate with both local and statewide teams

Training & Onboarding
Cerner training (approximately 7 days)
6 weeks of elbow-to-elbow training with a mentor

3 Months: Independently managing check-in/check-out; building knowledge of insurance processes
6 Months: Working independently with confidence; proactively asking questions
12 Months: Fully independent; able to serve as a resource to others and explore career ladder opportunities
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA preferred
1-2 years of healthcare or related experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and clinical workflows preferred
Exposure to ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
