Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Registration Specialist to join our Pulmonary Care team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a smooth patient experience-from arrival to checkout-while maintaining accurate records and supporting clinical workflows.
You'll be part of a close-knit, family-oriented team with strong mentorship and web-based training to support your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars
- Maintain and work assigned queues (including ARR queue)
- Utilize eCare and review wellness exams
- Manage bump lists and coordinate rescheduling
- Collaborate with the pulmonary department and provide support to sister offices
- Accurately collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information
- Explain billing, charges, and departmental policies to patients
- Enter charges and collect payments as required
- Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
- Ensure timely and professional patient flow from entry to exit
Training & Benchmarks
- 3 Months: Proficient in-patient check-in/out and scheduling
- 6 Months: Manage eCare wellness lookups and ARR queue independently
- 12 Months: Fully proficient in all aspects of the role
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of insurance verification and interpretation
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Experience or willingness to learn ICD-10 and CPT coding
