Schedule: 7:00am to 5:00pm Hours of Operation Monday to Friday. (Onsite)

Location: Fishers Primary Care and Pulmonary Team

Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Registration Specialist to join our Pulmonary Care team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a smooth patient experience-from arrival to checkout-while maintaining accurate records and supporting clinical workflows.

You'll be part of a close-knit, family-oriented team with strong mentorship and web-based training to support your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars
  • Maintain and work assigned queues (including ARR queue)
  • Utilize eCare and review wellness exams
  • Manage bump lists and coordinate rescheduling
  • Collaborate with the pulmonary department and provide support to sister offices
  • Accurately collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information
  • Explain billing, charges, and departmental policies to patients
  • Enter charges and collect payments as required
  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
  • Ensure timely and professional patient flow from entry to exit

Training & Benchmarks

  • 3 Months: Proficient in-patient check-in/out and scheduling
  • 6 Months: Manage eCare wellness lookups and ARR queue independently
  • 12 Months: Fully proficient in all aspects of the role

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and interpretation
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Experience or willingness to learn ICD-10 and CPT coding
