Medical Biller Jobs in Minnesota
A Medical Biller plays an integral role in the medical administration industry as they are primarily responsible for managing and submitting patient's billing data to insurance companies, and ensuring the healthcare provider is properly reimbursed for their services. They prepare and submit claims, follow up on unpaid claims, track claim status, review and appeal denied claims, and manage patient's billing accounts. Their role may extend to resolving patient's billing issues and inquiries, effectively making them the liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
To perform the job effectively, a Medical Biller must have a strong grasp of medical terminology, excellent attention to detail, and good communication skills. A Medical Biller should also be proficient in using medical billing software and understand insurance procedures, coding, and billing. Medical Billers often hold a Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification, which validates their expertise and commitment to the field. Prior to becoming a Medical Biller, an individual might have roles such as a Medical Secretary, Medical Receptionist, or Medical Records and Health Information Technician to gain the necessary experience and knowledge in the healthcare administration field.
